Maison
Viète

An entire house, yours alone. Five bedrooms, a chef, a coach, and a team that takes care of everything — for a stay or for an evening.

The House

An exceptional
address,
to live in full.

Behind a nineteenth-century stone façade, a few steps from Parc Monceau, a private mansion entirely reimagined: stone, oak, onyx and brass.

Maison Viète is let in its entirety. No shared lobby, no neighbours across the landing: the house is yours, from the grand salon to the apartment beneath the glass roof.

Around it, a discreet hotel team — concierge, private chef, coach, daily housekeeping — so that you have nothing to do but feel at home.

History

A house
of music and learning

The street opened in 1879 and bears the name of François Viète, the Renaissance mathematician who first thought of representing quantities with letters.

At no. 13, piano lessons “for amateurs and artists” were given from 1887, under the direction of the pianist L. Breitner. In the mid-twentieth century, the Institut Viète, led by senior teachers, taught here in turn.

A few doors down, the painter Giuseppe De Nittis, a friend of the Impressionists, built his studio in 1880. The façade of Maison Viète is painted in their manner, in homage to this neighbour.

The seal

An oculus,
a keystone

The emblem of Maison Viète is drawn from the round window on its façade: a ring of stone, a keystone, a cross. An architect's sign, almost a geometer's.

The street bears the name of François Viète, the Renaissance mathematician who first thought of representing quantities with letters.

The keystone gave the family its name: The Keystone Houses. Maison Viète is the first.
